Ar a Meeting of the Committee of the BANNATYNE CLUB, held at Edinburgh, in the House of the President, on Friday the 3d day of July 1840:

It was stated by the President, that the Second Part of the Book of the Universal Kirk of Scotland, containing all that could be found of the proceedings of the General Assemblies of the Church, from the year 1577 to the year 1592, which forms an important era in the history of Presbytery, was now very nearly completed; and that it would be desirable to have it circulated among the Members of the Club, without awaiting the completion of the third and last portion of the Work: RESOLVED, That Part Second of the "Acts and Proceedings of the General Assemblies of the Kirk of Scotland, from the year M.D.LX, collected from the most authentic Manuscripts," printed under the superintendence of the President, be forthwith issued to the Members of the Club.
