This letter must have been written in Oct. 1560, as Mary of Guise died in June of that

year, and Queen Mary returned to Scotland in August 1561.

Oure perliament, quhilk wes appointid to haue bene haldin þe ferd day of Februar inftant, is be ws continewit vnto pe xij day of Merche nixtocum; and leift ze mycht be ignorant of pe faid continewatioun, and thairthrow abfent zour felff fra cuming to oure faid parliament, We haue thocht gud, be pis oure lettre, to put zow in remembirance of pe faid continewatioun, and to defire and pray 30w effectiouslie þat ze will nocht faill to be at ws in oure burgh of Edinburgh þe ferd day of þe faid moneth of Merche, for gour avys and opinioun to be had in fic things as ar to be treatid in oure faid perliament; As 3e will do ws acceptabill feruice and plefour in þat be halff.
